Welcome

This is the home page of the Southport Astronomical Society, and our aims are to inspire people to go out at night and enjoy the wonders of the night sky, and to enlighten them about the nature of the things they see. Visit NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the day for a taster of what’s out there. Star trails at the Baxendell observatory in Hesketh Park. Credit Steve Birchall
